Budapestian glam-psych quartet release third full-length ‘Exotic Post-Traumatic’ – Out 22ndMarch 2019 via Butler Records.

An energetic track from the get-go, using saturated, distorted instrumentation, providing the perfect backdrop to Vitaris’ colour-filled vocals (PureGrainAudio)  Ivan & The Parazol build a distinctive blend of glam and psych-rock (IMPOSE).

IVAN & THE PARAZOL, a four-piece Budapestian band carrying the spirit of 70s glam-rock and incorporation of modern psych-rock instrumentation, making for an amalgam reminiscent of a Brian May-Kevin Parkercompound, with their flamboyant guitar solos and overdriven octave-pedals on guitars. The Budapest-based band have explored many facets of the live world during the last few years – performing a number of times at SXSW, CBGB, Reeperbahn, main-staging the SzigetFestival, supporting Deep Purpleat their Budapest stop of their arena tour, fresh off their 2017 support Rival Sonstour, while also attaining an MTV EMA award-winnersfor Best Central European Act; the band are by no-means finding their feet in regards to rearing their stylistic sound.

The upcoming album ‘Exotic Post-Traumatic’ was produced and recorded by Grammy Award-winningWil Anspach (Muse, Red Hot Chili Peppers,Justin Timberlake, Frank Ocean) at the renowned EastWeststudios in LA; hallowed grounds where Sinatra, Michael Jacksonand Foo Fightersare just a few of the notable names to have recorded their material there.

Previewing the album, ‘Nr. 1003’ starts with a sample of their onboard flight-welcome to LAX; an apt opening for the West-Coast-recorded ‘Exotic Post-Traumatic’, setting the warm apricot-sunlight tonalities that run throughout the LP. Ivan & The Parazolbuild an instrumentation ascension of synth arpeggios, while overdriven bass guitar underlies the entirety of the track; tying it together with its well-crafted melodies. Frontman Iván Vitáris carries a Jagger-like swagger not only on stage, but through recorded vocals too, as he commands the breadth of the composition, complimenting its distinctive arrangements.

‘Changin’’ showcases another dimension of Ivan & The Parazol’s creative prowess. Energetic from the start, the second single in the lead up to the band’s third full-length uses the saturated sing of distorted guitars and grooving basslines as an invigorating platform for frontman Iván Vitáris to deliver vocals bursting with character and colour. Rhythm-led verses let loose into a youthful, melodic chorus which is deserving of a place as the soaring opening of a coming-of-age indie film.

‘When I Was 17’ embodies a top-down 1970’s neon-purple Cadillac towing an ostentatiously large hi-fi stack, blasting classic rock through a dusty Americana desert. The track simply captures themes of teenage vivacity and liberation in what feels like a flared-jeans-filled psychedelic trip, while taking modern filters and streamlining the sound into some fresh form. Distorted guitar riffs ring out while Vitáris crudely references the time from which it feels the track is borne; “day after day, we move to the city, choosing the style - I rely on Ziggy”.

‘Exotic Post-Traumatic’ will be released across all platforms via Butler Records22ndMarch 2019.
